How important is an MBA to become a CEO?

Almost 50% of CEOs at major conglomerates do not have an MBA. Shocking? Not really.  The topic of whether an MBA is mission critical for CEOs has been discussed for a long time now. And there is no wrong or right answer to it.
Although MBA is not the ticket to success, it does help you climb the ladder faster. MBA's from the top 10 business schools  either end up in C-level positions or start their own business. Albeit an MBA is no way to ascertain a fat paycheck and it definitely will not replace life experience with education, it does make a difference in the overall attitude and thinking of the person.
