3. Do you want to switch from a technical role to a more business-oriented role?
4. Do you want to develop leadership and better interpersonal skills?
If you answered yes to any of the above-mentioned questions, you might want to consider an MBA. One of the top two reasons why people want to get an MBA is to improve their career prospects and learn new skills. Getting an MBA will undoubtedly help you with getting into the right industry, the right company, the right role. In fact, MBA has become a necessity to establish a successful career in the world of business.
But, is this the right time for you to pursue the degree? It definitely is. The economy is just bouncing back and there is more positivity at work place. To make life easier, business schools are increasingly offering accelerated MBA since this will allow you to return to work quickly. More people are applying for one-year MBA rather than two-year MBA programs.
Apart from increased job benefits, MBA helps you explore your personality. You may learn things about yourself which you might have otherwise missed. It provides you with the opportunity to make more connections and explore various opportunities. If you are looking forward to start your own business, MBA can equip you with the necessary skill sets. There are certain schools which offer specializations in entrepreneurship. And though they cannot teach you to be creative, schools provide you with the right training and opportunities to help you think bold and execute those ideas.
The best thing to do is list your expectations from an MBA. Once you are clear with your long-term goal, it will be much easier to select the right school.
